Senator Carmichael moved to amend the amendment on pages one and two, section one, subsection (b), subdivision (1), lines eighteen and nineteen, after the word “shall” by striking out the comma and the words “upon a determination by the division that such action is needed and necessary for the safety of the school children,”;

And,

On page two, section one, subsection (b), subdivision (1), line twenty, after the word “request” by changing the period to a colon and inserting the following proviso:  Provided, That the school zone may not be expanded more than one hundred twenty-five feet along an adjacent road unless the division determines that the additional extension is needed and necessary for the safety of the school children.
